The Société Française de Physique (French Physical Society) is a non-profit association run by and for French physicists, with the aim of :
- exchanging views on physics, its production, funding and place in society;
- working collectively to enliven the community and provide access to scientific culture for as many people as possible
It is made up of researchers, teachers, teacher-researchers, PhD students, post-docs and business professionals, all sharing the same passion for physics and the desire to promote it within society.
The Ministry of Education supports educational initiatives that promote scientific culture, such as the International Physics Olympiad, because it is through the dissemination and promotion of scientific culture that France will consolidate its excellence in the field of science and technology. In particular, the aim is to :
- inspire students to enjoy learning and practicing science;
- encourage young people, especially girls, to take up scientific careers;
- prepare future citizens to understand the world around them, and to meet the challenges facing society and the environment.
The French Ministry of Higher Education and Research supports the national strategy for scientific, technical and industrial literacy :
- helps citizens to understand the world in which they live and to prepare for the world of tomorrow.
- integrates science into society by informing the public and encouraging them to think about science and the issues it raises, by encouraging exchanges with the scientific community, by sharing knowledge and by educating people to become active citizens.
Polytechnic Institute of Paris is a public higher education and research establishment that brings together five of France's leading engineering schools: École Polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris, Télécom SudParis and École nationale des ponts et chaussées.
Under the aegis of the Institute, they pool their two-hundred-year-old expertise to pursue two major ambitions: to develop excellent training programs and cutting-edge research. Thanks to the strong roots of its five founding schools, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris is positioned as a leading teaching and research institution in France and internationally.
École Polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris and Télécom Paris, Télécom SudParis have all contributed to the major industrial and technological revolutions of the last two centuries.
Graduates of these schools include several Nobel Prize winners, as well as leading figures from the worlds of politics, business and research.
This is France's most prestigious engineering school. It is called "Polytechnique" and nicknamed "X".
Founded in 1794, it recruits its students by competitive examination every year. Originally located in the heart of Paris, since 1976 it has been based in Palaiseau, south of Paris, close to the CEA, Paris-Saclay University, numerous companies and other leading engineering schools.
A military school open to girls since 1972, its almost 4,000 students are deeply involved in research and innovation, and its Bachelor of Science is an intensive three-year program designed for students with a passion for mathematics and science. The highly selective, internationally oriented program is multidisciplinary and taught in English.
We would like to thank all our partners who support the Olympiads by acting as communication relays and/or providing logistical support for the organization of the event.
