Roads, freeways and two airports complete the dense infrastructure. Outside Paris, there are numerous forests and imposing castles such as Versailles, as well as a wide variety of sports facilities and cultural venues.
Several universities and engineering schools, as well as numerous scientific facilities, are part of the scientific fabric of the Paris region.
